New calf barn with Topcalf Duo XL calf pens in Canada

A new calf barn at Roekel Holsteins in Ontario, Canada, has been equipped with Topcalf Duo XL calf pens. These pens are designed for housing young calves and combine individual housing with the flexibility to transition to group housing at a later stage.

From individual housing to group housing

The new calf barn features a flexible layout designed to support the different stages of calf rearing. Calves can initially be housed individually. By removing the partition wall, small groups can then be formed without having to replace the calf pens.

Thanks to the integrated wheels and fork pockets, the pens can be moved easily, for example when cleaning or rearranging the barn. This project was completed in collaboration with Spinder Dairy Centre and Performance Dairy Centre.
